General Rules
- This is a team event within the Glo
Lagos Half Marathon race and must be run as such.
- A team must register a minimum of 5
participants (of any gender) per team. Each organization may
register a minimum of 5 teams for the competition; but may
choose to have as many cheerleaders as possible.
- Each runner must represent a
company and must be the staff of the company.
- Teams are not allowed to be formed
by students or professional athletes.
- Each team member participates and
runs the 2.805km Corporate Challenge Race.
- Each participant in this category
is timed electronically using the lead vehicle timing.
- Only registered participants of the Corporate Challenge category are eligible for the team.
Prize Determinant
- The team with the lowest aggregate time of their 5 finishers will be declared the winner. The same process will be used to determine the 2nd & 3rd position. Aggregate time will computed thus: Team Glo has 5 team members and
they came in as 20th, 62nd, 102nd, 250th and 1201st. The
score is 20+62+102+250+1201=1635
- If a company cannot raise a team of 5, the runners from that company can participate as individuals in the Fun Run

Running Rules
- Forms:
Full names of members of the registered team must appear in
the corporate runners form. Each team will be given a unique
serial number. Team members’ copies of Company ID card must
be attached during submission of forms.
- Bibs:
All registered corporate runners must run with corporate
bibs with corresponding tag number. Others can run without
bibs.
- Running:
Running
- All teams must complete the courses
as instructed and marked. No motorized forms of transport
are allowed unless otherwise required (e.g. during an
emergency).
- Planned or pre-arranged outside
assistance is not permitted at any time. runners must be
identifiable members of staff (at least 3 months before the
race day)
- All team members must pass within
the designated checkpoint funnels for officials to register
lawful participation unless otherwise specified.
- Failure to run through a checkpoint
or a finish area may incur a time penalty or
disqualification of the team at the discretion of the race
director.
- Team members must follow the course
and must comply with the spirit of the race.
- Apparel: Unregistered corporate
runners may wear T-Shirts of their companies while
registered runner must put on the official running gear.
However, the provided running gear may be co-branded with
the registered companies’ corporate logo.
- Keep Lagos Clean: No littering – use a bin or take rubbish with
you.
- Running aid: The use of any wheel-run objects for projection run
is not permitted. Also the use of performance-enhancing
drugs is not allowed. Any participant doing so will be
requested to exit the course immediately by the officials.
- Wheelchairs: Any corporate runner
with wheelchair can only participate in the non-registered
category of this race.
- Animals: Animals & Pets are
strictly not allowed on the race route.
- All team members must go to the
finish area for results to be announced unless otherwise
instructed.
- Running Equipment: Teams may carry their cell phones, cameras,
whistle, timer and energy drink.
- Phones:
Teams are responsible for ensuring their mobile phones and
other properties are kept and secure.
- Late/ Non Finishers: The organizers may impose cut-off time and
require slower teams to take an alternative route to the
finish line.
- Insurance & Medicals: Teams / Competitors should consider obtaining personal insurance covers against injury if required and obtain medical clearance for the race. However, the organizers shall only provide medical / paramedics support and NOT insurance for runners.
Technical Rule
The races shall be run on made-up roads. However, when traffic or similar circumstances make it unsuitable, the course, duly marked, may be on a bicycle path or footpath alongside the road, but not on soft ground such as grass verges or the like. The start and finish will be within Lagoon Restaurant, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island.
Start and Finish Line
The start and the finish of a race shall be denoted by a white line at least 5cm wide. The length of the course (2.805 Km) has been certified in advance by an IAAF approved course measurer (using the "Calibrated Bicycle Method”)
It is intended that parts of the course on race day will be defined by the use of non-permanent equipment such as cones, barricades, etc. and their positioning has been decided before the time of the measurement and the documentation of such decisions has been included in the measurement report.
The decrease in elevation between the start and finish has not exceeded one in a thousand, i.e. 1m per km.
The distance in kilometres on the route shall be displayed to all runners.
The Start: The races shall be started by the firing of a gun. As a result of the large number of participants, a five-minute warning before the start of the race shall be given, with additional warnings if required.
Safety and Medical
The Organising Committee of the Glo Lagos Corporate marathon has provisioned for the safety of runners and officials.
The Organising Committee shall ensure that the roads used for the competition are closed to motorised traffic in all directions.
An athlete shall retire at once from the race if ordered to do so by a member of the official medical staff appointed by the Organising Committee. Such staff shall be clearly identified by armbands, vests or similar distinctive apparel.
Drinking/Sponging and Refreshment Stations
Water and other suitable refreshments shall be available at the start and finish of the Glo corporate Marathon.
Drinking/sponging stations, where water shall be supplied, shall be placed approximately mid-way between the refreshment stations. Refreshments, shall be placed so that they are easily accessible to, or may be put by authorised persons into the hands of the runners.
Official Finish Time
The official time shall be the time elapsed between the firing of the starting gun and the runners reaching the finish line. However, the time elapsed between an athlete crossing the start line and the finish line can be made known to him, but will not be considered as official time. The order in which athletes reach the finish line will be considered as the official finish position.
The organizers aim to provide fair and honest race and level playing field for all participants, corporate teams and club teams in the Glo Marathon – Corporate Challenge 2207. The organizers reserve the right to refuse to invite or indeed to decline entry to any team (Club or Corporate) or individuals for any reason that they see fit. The event may be modified at any time by the organizers due to bad weather, security or any unforeseen circumstances deemed suitable by the race organizers
