Race Rules
The event will be conducted in accordance with the rules of Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
For the Half Marathon, participants attempting to join the course at any point along the route other than behind the start line will be prevented from continuing. Video cameras will be used and cheat checks will be conducted. Anyone without an official race number will be prevented from continuing.

Race Number
The Race Number must be worn on the front of your vest/shirt at all times. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Safety Information
While the Event Organisers have taken every reasonable measure to ensure your safety, as a participant of the Glo Lagos Half Marathon, you are responsible for your own safety and enter this event at your own risk.

Safety has been at the forefront of our planning. This involves the safety of participants, marshals and the public, with considerable planning being undertaken in association with Nigeria Police, Road Marshal, FRSC and LASMA.

Start and Finish
Half Marathon: Subject to the event contingency plans and the event conditions the start time for the Half Marathon will be at 7:00am Saturday 12 December 2009 at Alaka Bus Stop Surulere.

Starts on 17th November and ends on the 23rd January, 2009.

• Forms will be distributed to 40 GloWorld shops pan Nigeria, 5 ETB Branches in Lagos, AFN Offices, State Sports Councils and the National Stadium.

LAGOS PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT FOR GLO MARATHON
Lagos State, the host State for the 3rd Glo Lagos International Half Marathon, has pledged its full support for the race coming up on the 5th and 12th of December 2009.

Speaking over the weekend, the State’s Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele, said that Lagos International Half Marathon has become a very important part of the new Lagos Mega City, saying that Lagos State will bring its power, men and resources to bear on the organisation of the event. “We hope to make this Half Marathon a world-class event, run in a world-class city. This is also our event”, he said.

Glo begins preparation for 3rd Lagos Half Marathon
Preparations for the third edition of the Glo-Lagos International Half Marathon are already in top gear as telecoms giant and title sponsor, Globacom has announced the 12th of December 2009 as the date for the main race.

This will be preceded by the Corporate and Media Fun Run on the 5th of December, 2009.
Glo Lagos marathon to be listed as world event
Following the series of phenomenal successes recorded by the last two editions of the Glo Lagos International Half Marathon, the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) has begun moves to list the race on the World Calendar of marathons and road races.

At a joint press conference held at the Mike Adenuga Towers on Thursday, Globacom and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) officials said that AIMS, in recognition of the new status of the Glo Lagos International Half Marathon, has sent its representatives to Nigeria.
